Loyola Marymount University and Phosworks LA teamed up in 2014 to document the history of KXLU 88.9FM, one of Los Angeles’s few remaining independent radio stations. Watch the short film that features interviews with members of the Red Hot Chili Peppers, Jurassic 5, Postal Service and more talking about how KXLU affected their careers.

Owned by the LMU Board of Trustees, KXLU 88.9FM is listener supported and renowned for its diverse and eclectic range of free form, commercial free radio to the Los Angeles community and to the world. The station is operated in the public interest by its student, faculty and volunteer staff.
