ROAR Network Receives Student Production Honors

Loyola Marymount University’s ROAR Network has been honored by the Association of Higher Education Campus Television Administrators as part of its 2015 Student Production Awards.

Three videos produced by ROAR Network students were honored in this year’s AHECTA Student Production Awards in various categories.

A Tale of Rancid Love” (directed by Grey Hansen and Brennan Gilpatrick) earned the AHECTA SPA Grand Prize, “Geeks and Greeks” (directed by Ryan Pawlak) received Original Short Film/Music Video First Prize and “Behind the Scoreboard: Errol Smith” (directed by Audrey Liviakis) was named as News/Sports Feature First Prize. Each video director will receive a $700 cash prize.

“The students worked very hard this year to increase the overall quality of ROAR Network’s video content, not just for themselves, but also for the LMU community and I think it really shows,” said Ashanti Blaize-Hopkins, LMU’s Assistant Director of Student Media. “These awards are a testament to how far ROAR Network has come since its inception and what the students will be able to produce in the future.”
