In Memoriam: Marshall Sauceda

The Division of Student Affairs at Loyola Marymount University is saddened by the loss of our friend and colleague Marshall Sauceda, recently retired associate vice president for Student Affairs.

Marshall, who was 60 years old, passed away December 4 after an extended illness. Marshall joined LMU in 1997 as assistant dean for student development and served in many key roles for the Division of Student Affairs. He also created Ethnic and Intercultural Services, which serves a key function at this institution, and he took an active role in developing the Social Justice Scholarships for the university. Marshall was a kind and thoughtful man who was highly respected throughout the university, and who was deeply loyal to LMU, especially to the students he served as an advocate and friend.

In September, the Division of Student Affairs celebrated Marshall’s career at LMU with a special edition of our monthly newsletter ‘The Magis’.
